Wind Advisory Follows Thunderstorms Across the Concho Valley

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Last night, a series of thunderstorms roared through the region, bringing strong winds, lightning, and temporary minor flooding to parts of San Angelo.

The storms prompted a Wind Advisory that remains in effect from 9 AM this morning to 9 AM CST Sunday. The advisory warns of west/northwest winds ranging from 25-35 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. The affected areas include the Northern Edwards Plateau, Concho Valley, and portions of the Northwest Hill Country.

Gusty winds could potentially blow around unsecured objects, leading to tree limbs being knocked down and a few power outages. Authorities advise residents to exercise extra caution when driving, particularly if operating high-profile vehicles, and to secure outdoor objects.

The impact of the thunderstorms was felt across the region, with reports of some areas experiencing temporary minor flooding. Residents are urged to stay informed about changing weather conditions and to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during the ongoing weather event.
