Bone-Chilling Dog-Killing Arctic Cold Through Wednesday

SAN ANGELO – In the coming hours and throughout the night Sunday night, there's a chance of very light freezing drizzle and/or sleet. While precipitation won't be constant, it could occur anytime between 12 pm today and 10 am tomorrow. The coverage is expected to be showery, and although accumulations should be minimal, localized areas might experience heavier drizzle leading to increased ice amounts. It's important to note that even slight ice accumulation can create slippery surfaces.

For those venturing out, especially when driving, exercise caution and maintain a safe distance between vehicles. If walking, step carefully and be vigilant for slippery surfaces. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until 12 pm today, with wind chills at or below zero. In other areas, wind chills will be in the single digits.

Looking ahead to the next few days, a prolonged period of below-freezing temperatures is anticipated until Wednesday morning. Tuesday morning wind chills are expected to be sub-zero, possibly necessitating a widespread Wind Chill Advisory.

Additionally, a mix of freezing rain, freezing drizzle, and sleet is possible through Monday afternoon. This may lead to slick spots on roads and bridges. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Noon Sunday through Noon Monday for the Heartland, NW Hill Country, and Eastern Concho Valley.
