SAN ANGELO – Early morning rains from a fast moving line of thunderstorms associated with a strong cold front could turn to mud with the blowing dust heading toward West Central Texas Monday afternoon.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for West Central Texas through 6 a.m. Tuesday, cautioning residents of brisk weather shifts. Winds will be 20 to 25 mph Monday morning then increase to 30 to 35 mph this afternoon with gusts to 50 mph. The day commences with robust south winds, later veering west by midday and transitioning to a northwest direction by nightfall.
Anticipate heightened fire risks from Big Lake to Mertzon to Eldorado southward along the I-10 corridor this afternoon, escalating to near critical levels.
