Freeze Warning!

SAN ANGELO – The first freeze of the season is forecast for Monday night and a Freeze Warning has been issued for the San Angelo area.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, temperatures will drop to around 27 degrees early Tuesday morning with wind chill values in the lower 20s.  Conditions this cold can kill sensitive plants, crops, injure unprotected plants and burst pipes.

Similar conditions are forecast for Wednesday morning as well.

Experts recommend you move vulnerable house plants indoors before sundown Monday.  And make sure any pets that have to be outdoors have plenty of warm shelter, access to fresh water and plenty of food.  Wrap exposed plumbing now to avoid bursting pipes.

The Freeze Warning is in effect from 2 a.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Tuesday for counties in the Concho Valley, Big Country and Heartland.
