SAN ANGELO – Cold temperatures and light rain Sunday behind a strong cold front will usher in the first freeze of the season across West Texas.
Temperatures in the 40s Sunday morning will gradually drop to the 30s with mist and light rain throughout the day. Some areas will see the first freeze of the fall Sunday night and into early Monday morning.
There is a 70% chance of light rain Sunday and Sunday night with temperatures 20 to 40 degrees cooler than Saturday. The low temperature Sunday night is forecast at 36 degrees, Monday night at 33 and 28 for Tuesday. Cold temperatures will affect the area through Tuesday followed by a warming trend.
The first freeze of the season region wide is expected Monday night into Tuesday. A Freeze Watch has been issued for the Big Country and the Northern Counties of the Concho Valley Monday night into Tuesday.
