SAN ANGELO – The forecast calls for a dry Saturday afternoon which is good news for those attending the Cinch Roping Fiesta in the outdoor arena at the San Angelo Fairgrounds.
Take a jacket and an umbrella to the fairgrounds; Sunday could be soggy.
Shower activity Saturday morning to the east of the area is expected to end in the early afternoon. Cloudy skies will prevail Saturday with rain chances returning Saturday night. There is a 30% chance of rain Saturday night after 2 a.m. then an 80% chance of rain Sunday.
A strong cold front will bring the first freeze of the year to the area by Monday. According to the National Weather Service, the high temperature Sunday in San Angelo will reach 52 degrees Sunday morning then fall into the 40s with rain by the afternoon. The low temp Sunday night will be 35 degrees with a 90% chance of rain.
Monday's high will only reach the mid 40s with showers all day. The rain chances end Monday evening. Monday night the first area wide freeze is forecast with a low of 32. Tuesday afternoon will be in the mid 40s then the temp will drop to 29 Tuesday night.
Weather experts advise residents to take precautions now to ensure the safety of pets, plants and pipes by early next week.
