Isolated Rain Chances This Week Ahead of a Cold Front

SAN ANGELO – Overnight rains sprinkled .38 inches of the wet stuff at Mathis Field with heavy rain to the northwest and flooding in the Big Country Monday night.  The remnants of Norma will continue to affect the northwestern Concho Valley and the Big Country through Tuesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, waves of rainfall concentrated in the western Concho Valley and moved into the Big Country overnight.  Rainfall totals were 1 to 2 inches in the western Concho Valley and higher with the thunderstorms.

Most of the Concho Valley including the San Angelo area will see isolated showers Tuesday into Tuesday night while the Big Country will see significantly more rain.

Rain chances will increase Wednesday in the eastern Concho Valley with the passage of a low pressure system. The San Angelo area will again see isolated rain showers.

For Thursday and Friday, look for drier and warmer conditions in the Concho Valley with rain possible west and north.

A strong cold front late Sunday into Monday will cool things down to below seasonal normal temps with rain chances returning Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
