WATCH: Flooding in San Angelo Saturday

 

SAN ANGELO – A line of severe thunderstorms rumbled through San Angelo Saturday morning with heavy rain inundating all of West Central Texas kicking off Severe Weather and Flood Watches and Warnings as creeks, draws, arroyos and city streets flooded.  

The National Weather Sevice office at Mathis Field issued several weather alerts urging motorists to avoid low lying areas across the region especially in the City of San Angelo.  

The San Angelo Police Department issued a Nixle advising drivers to avoid all low water crossings and flood prone areas especially College Hills Blvd. between Oxford and Vista Del Arroyo in the construction zone.

The storm system moved through the Concho Valley in the morning hours and was headed southeast to the Hill Country where Flash Flood Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued.  

The NWS reported .86 inches of rain by 10 a.m. with more falling.
