Flood Advisory Saturday Morning

SAN ANGELO – Heavy rains Saturday morning prompted the National Weather Service office in San Angelo to issue a Flood Advisory for the area as a line of potent and severe thunderstorms raced through the area from the northwest to the southeast.

The NWS issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Tom Green, Schleicher and Concho Counties at the storms moved through with high winds, lots of lightning and radar-indicated small hail.

Street flooding was reported in San Angelo and the surrounding communities Saturday morning.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the area until 11 a.m. Saturday as well.  About an inch of rain fell from the strong line of thunderstorms with the activity ending Saturday night.

There is a warmer and drier weather trend beginning Sunday.  Afternoon highs will reach the lower 90s all week next week with overnight lows around 70 degrees.  There is a slight chance for some isolated shower activity daily but most areas will remain dry.
