SAN ANGELO – Bands of light to moderate rain will continue through the weekend across West Texas giving most areas a good soaking a few times before the wet spell ends.
The 2.27 inches recorded early Tuesday morning at the airport in San Angelo put the total for the month of September at 3.04 inches, which makes 12.28 inches for the year which is 2.73 inches below average.
Most of the rain showers Wednesday through Friday will be less than a quarter of an inch but some stronger storms will produce up to a few inches of rain and cause flooding of low lying areas, streets and roadways.
The rain chances for the week remain in the 50% to 70% range with temperatures ranging from the mid 60s at night to the mid 80s during the day. Most areas will remain cloudy for the remainder of the week.
Tom Green County lifted the Burn Ban Tuesday because of the rain.
