NWS: Huge Weather Shift Coming Monday

SAN ANGELO – A Heat Advisory for Thursday afternoon will likely be upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning for Friday before winds start to shift bringing rain chances and that huge seasonal shift to West Texas so many have been asking for.

Thursday will be dangerously hot with highs around 104 then Friday will feel like a furnace with a high at 107.  Expect Federal Government Weather Experts to issue that Excessive Heat Warning for Friday afternoon.

It will be a few degrees cooler Saturday and Sunday then a real cold front will begin affecting West Texas weather.  That cold front will bring significantly cooler temperatures and increased rain chances across the region.

Rain chances begin Saturday with 20% then increase daily to 50% by Tuesday with overnight lows dropping into the 60s and afternoon highs in the 80s.  Clear skies will give way to partly cloudy conditions and cloud cover by Monday and Tuesday.

Sunday should be the last day with temperatures above 100 degrees for the next few weeks.  That would make 77 days in 2023 where the temp surpassed the 100 degree mark with 8 days above 110.

This is a developing weather situation and we will update this information daily as warranted.
