SAN ANGELO – The high pressure heat dome over West Texas will deteriorate over the next several days and give way to the annual pre-dove season/Labor Day rainy spell the Concho Valley experiences in most years.
According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, a cool frontal system will provide cloud cover for parts of the area over the weekend bringing a slight chance for showers Friday and Saturday.
The high pressure ridge will weaken and give way to a weak frontal boundary early Monday lingering into Monday night providing the right conditions for widespread rainfall. The chance of rain is 50% for Monday and Monday night. Government weather experts say .5 inches of rain on average is possible with isolated areas of up to an inch.
High temperatures will top out in the upper 90s next week heading into September and the Labor Day weekend.
