This is Texas’ Most Popular State Park

ABILENE, TX — A study revealed that the Abilene State Park is the most popular state park in Texas. 

According to the study, released by Isuranks in Aug. 2023, the Abilene State Park is the most popular national or state park in the state. Despite that the park doesn’t rank in the top 10 nation wide.

The Abilene State Park features a number of activities including fishing, canoeing, hiking, trail riding, and more. The park, with 529.4 acres, is southwest of Abilene, in Taylor County. The Civilian Conservation Corps built the park's facilities in the early 1930s. Abilene State Park opened on May 10, 1934. 

Other parks on the list included the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Zion National Park. 

The study was based on searches and TripAdvisor ratings since the COVID-19 pandemic.
