Hot & Bothered: Tropical Storm Teases Rain

SAN ANGELO – Excessive Heat Warnings and Red Flag Warnings for wildfire danger remain in effect for the Concho Valley Monday afternoon while that tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico teases rain for the area that will likely remain to the south.

Government weather models show the tropical system moving west along the Rio Grande and the rain reaching only to the I-10 corridor from the Ozona area to Sonora to Menard and San Saba.  Clouds will roll in across the Concho Valley Tuesday dropping afternoon high temperatures a few degrees to around 101 but the rain chances remain in the southern counties.

There is a slight chance of isolated showers south of a San Angelo to San Saba line Tuesday night into Wednesday before things heat back up heading into the weekend.

The Excessive Heat Warnings and Red Flag Warnings are in effect for the Concho Valley from 1 p.m. to 8. p.m. Monday.

Continue to take the proper precautions when working or venturing outdoors and take special care of pets, children and the elderly.

There is a 30% chance of rain in the southern counties Tuesday night into Wednesday and a 20% chance Wednesday afternoon.

Afternoon high temperatures will return to 104 to 105 by the weekend.
