NWS: Warm Front Will Bring 111 Degrees & Higher Next Week

SAN ANGELO – August heat is forecast to increase next week with the passage of a warm front across an already baking West Texas.

According to the National Weather Service, a warm front will move in Tuesday then a wave of intense heat will follow Wednesday and Thursday with temps 107 to 111 and higher across the Concho Valley and Big Country.  Expect Excessive Heat Warnings to be issued daily for the next ten days at least. Adding to the misery, temperatures at night will only drop to around 80, so there won't be much relief overnight.

Wildfire danger will also increase each day do look for advisories about outdoor burning.  Rivers, streams and lakes are experiencing increased evaporation so be aware that water levels are dropping at every reservoir in West Texas. Windy conditions also exist in parts of West Texas so Red Flag Warnings will also be issued.

It's summer.  It's hot.  Take the necessary precautions to keep yourself, your family and your pets safe and healthy.
