12.05-Pound Bass Hauled in from O.H. Ivie Reservoir

BALLINGER, TX — An angler pulled another oversized bass out of O.H. Ivie Reservoir this week. This time, San Angelo resident Johnathon Harding hauled in a 12.05-lb Bass on June 10, 2023. Harding submitted the catch to the Parks and Wildlife Department ShareLunker Program, which awarded the fish with Elite Status. The Inland Fisheries San Angelo District posted Harding’s haul on their Facebook page.

The ShareLunker Program awards different levels according to the weight of the fish caught. According to the ShareLunker program’s standards, any fish over eight lbs or 24 inches becomes part of the ShareLunker program and achieves the Lunker status. Likewise, any fish in the double digits in weight achieves Elite status, and finally, any fish caught that weighs more than 12 lbs achieves Legend status.

With summer in full swing, expect many more anglers to bring in bigger and bigger fish. Fisherman already caught several basses that fit in these categories this year, and you could be next. Take a look back at another catch earlier this May.
