SAN ANGELO – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo Issued a Heat Advisory as afternoon high temperatures Wednesday soared to 105 degrees.
The oppressive heat will continue for several days and will bring dangerous conditions for people and pets outdoors.
According to the NWS, the Heat Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday. Heat related illnesses are possible with the extreme heat and humidity.
Residents are urged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, avoid the sun and check on relatives and neighbors. Make sure all outdoor pets have plenty of fresh, clean water and ample shade. And Never, Ever, leave a child or a pet unattended in a vehicle.
Expect temperatures to climb even higher over the next few days. The same precautions will apply. Look for the NWS to issue Excessive Heat Warnings each afternoon as conditions reach critical levels.
