WATCH: Heavy Rains Temporarily Flood San Angelo Streets Thursday

 

SAN ANGELO – A line of heavy thunderstorms rolled through the Concho Valley Thursday morning flooding city streets, stalling vehicles, and knocking out power.  

According to the National Weather Service office at Mathis Field in San Angelo, .72 inches of rain was recorded Thursday morning.  Heavier rainfall totals were reported from Mertzon to Grape Creek and across the city as the line of thunderstorms moved through rapidly.

The rain ended around 11 a.m. and flood waters began to subside.  According to the NWS, there is a slight chance of storms redeveloping in the western Concho Valley Thursday afternoon, but the city of San Angelo should remain relatively dry for the remainder of the day.
