NWS Issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Friday Night

 

SAN ANGELO – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Concho Valley and surrounding area effective until 10 p.m. Friday night. 

According to the NWS, severe thunderstorms with large hail, heavy rains and strong winds are possible in the area mainly south of I-20.  Flooding is likely with the stronger storms.  An isolated tornado could form in this storm system so residents are urged to stay vigilant and check back frequently for more updates.  

There is a 70% chance of rain this evening dropping to 30% after midnight and continuing throughout the weekend.
