NWS: Dense Fog Advisory & Slick Bridges & Overpasses Tuesday Morning

SAN ANGELO – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the entire region effective until 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Update: NWS Extended the Dense Fog Advisory through 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Dense fog and near freezing temperatures are creating conditions for hazardous driving with visibility at less than 1/4 mile.

Temperatures may dip below freezing in places creating a thin layer of ice on bridges and overpasses so drivers are urged to exercise caution especially in rural areas on bridges and overpasses and any stretch of roadway that becomes slick during wet weather.

Drivers are also cautioned to slow down and use low beam headlights and fog lights while driving in dense fog.

Look for conditions to improve rapidly as the sun rises.  Expect Mostly sunny skies and 61 degrees by the afternoon.
