Bow Hunters Nocked Arrows Saturday Morning in San Angelo State Park as Deer Archery Season Began

 

SAN ANGELO – Several bow hunters headed to the designated hunting areas of the San Angelo State Park Saturday morning as archery season for white-tailed deer began in Texas Oct. 1. 

According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, archery season for white-tailed deer runs from Oct. 1 – 23, 2022 and Nov. 12 – 27.  All hunters must have a valid hunting license.  All hunters in the San Angelo State Park designated areas must check in at the South Gate entrance and hold a permit.

Hunting areas at the State Park are outside the main park area on the opposite side of FM-2288 so regular park guests are safe. 

The bag limit is 2 and hand broadcast baiting is allowed.
