SAN ANGELO – A small, man-made pond at the San Angelo State Park has been stocked with perch and crappie and is drawing a crowd of critters and a few fishing enthusiasts to the oasis in the desert during the drought.
Javalina pond was stocked last week with a limited number of perch and crappie and is a bit of a well kept secret in the park located just outside San Angelo.
Watch the video below of wildlife around the pond recorded Saturday morning:
Javelina Pond @ #SanAngeloStatePark is full of water and ready to be fished! Thanks to Inland Fisheries San Angelo District - Texas Parks and Wildlife for stocking the pond with a few perch and crappie.
Ask the South gatehouse for directions and a copy of the rules/regs for fishing this community fishing pond.
