Severe Thunderstorm & Flash Flood Warnings Issued for Tom Green County

 

SAN ANGELO – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Tom Green County until 8:00 p.m. and a Flash Flood Warning until 7:30 p.m.  

A severe thunderstorm system has dumped one to two inches of rain across the San Angelo area and streets are flooding now and will continue to flood as long as it rains according to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo.  

According to the NWS, a severe thunderstorm now extends from Crockett County to Schleicher County and into Tom Green County.  

This storm is capable of producing hail at least 1 inch in diameter and winds over 58 mph.  This storm also is capable of producing localized flooding.  

This storm will continue to develop and additional warnings will be issued as storms fire off in and around San Angelo.
