NWS: Dangerous Dry & Windy Conditions Prompt Fire Weather Watch

SAN ANGELO – Dry and windy conditions Saturday afternoon have prompted meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo to issue a Fire Weather Watch.

According to the NWS, relative humidities will drop to between 8 and 15 percent while winds will shift to the west and increase to 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph creating dangerous conditions for wildfires.

A Fire Weather Watch means conditions are right for dangerous wildfires to develop and spread rapidly Saturday afternoon.

This is a developing weather situation.
