Winter Weather Closures & Delays in the Concho Valley

SAN ANGELO, TX – With winter weather expected to hit the Concho Valley on Thursday winter weather delays have begun.

Business Delays/Closures:

• Concho Educators Federal Credit Union - Concho Educators Federal Credit Union – THURSDAY: Drive ups & lobbies will open at 10am.
• Grape Creek Baptist Daycare - Delayed opening Thursday, Feb. 24th - 9 A.M.: subject to change

Churches Delays/Closures:

• House of Faith - Due to the weather, we will NOT be having our Backyard Bible Clubs after school today or tomorrow. Stay safe & warm and we will see you all next week!

Government Delays/Closures:

• Early Voting Open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at all 5 locations
• All Other Tom Green County Offices Closed Thursday. 

• City of San Angelo offices will delay opening on Thursday, Feb. 24 due to potential icy conditions on roadways. City offices will open at Noon Feb. 24. We encourage citizens to check local weather services for updates regarding road conditions before traveling. Please use caution when driving in icy conditions and take your time if you have to get out and travel on the roadways.

• Trash service will be delayed Thursday, Feb. 24, due to potential icy conditions. If your collection day is on Thursday, please have your bins placed near your collection area and Republic Services will hopefully complete Thursday’s collection by the end of the day.

• GOODFELLOW AFB - 

  DELAYED REPORTING:
  Due to adverse weather forecast, Goodfellow AFB has implemented a 2-hour delayed reporting for February 24.  Personnel should contact their chain of command for additional guidance per their individual work centers. 

  Use caution if traveling. When commuting to work in the morning, all personnel should proceed with caution/leave extra time, as there may still be some likelihood of "black ice" on roadways.

  The Goodfellow AFB Jacobson (South) gate will be open for 24-hour operations. The North Gate will be open 9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The visitor control center will be open from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The commercial vehicle inspection area will be open from 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.  Pedestrian gate will be open 1 hour before SAISD report time.

  The Goodfellow AFB dining facilities, commissary and AAFES facilities hours remain the same. Stay tuned for additional information.

School Delays/Closures:

• Angelo Catholic School - 2 hour delay. 
• Angelo State University – Classes Cancelled for Thursday
• Ballinger ISD - 10am Start Thursday Feb. 24th
• Blackwell CISD - The current forecast calls for more precipitation tonight and continued freezing temperatures. Please prepare for the possibility of no school on Thursday, Feb 24.
• Brownwood ISD - With the low temperatures today, along with the temperatures expected overnight and tomorrow, BISD is closely monitoring the weather. At this time, school will begin 2-hours later than normal on Thursday (2/24/22). Buses will run 2-hours late and breakfast will be served. If there is any precipitation this afternoon or tonight, we will likely cancel school for Thursday (2/24/22). Any cancellation notice will be sent as soon as a decision is made, but no later than 5:00 am.
• Christoval ISD - Classes Cancelled Thursday
• Early ISD - EISD schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week due to developing winter weather. After-school and evening activities are also cancelled, postponed, or moved. Please check with your child's coach/director/sponsor for rescheduling details. We encourage you to take winter weather precautions for your homes and families, and please stay safe and warm.
• Grape Creek ISD - Classes Cancelled for Thursday
• Howard College San Angelo - 

  Howard College San Angelo and St. John's Campuses will have a delayed start on Thursday, 2-24-22 due to ongoing weather conditions. Classes that start before 10am are canceled. Classes that start at 10am or after will continue as scheduled.  Conditions will be re-evaluated in the morning and another notification sent if there is a need for further schedule changes.

• Irion County Schools Closed Thursday

• Little House Clubhouse - LIttle Rascal’s Clubhouse will delay opening until 10am on Thursday, February 24th due to expected bad weather. --

• Mason ISD - MISD will have a late start tomorrow, February 24, 2022 due to the weather. Busses will run two hours later than normal, school will begin at 10:00 am. MISD comenzará tarde mañana, 24 de febrero de 2022 debido al clima. • Menard ISD - Menard ISD will have a 10:00 start for Thursday.  Please check for any updates in the morning. Stay warm and safe.
• Miles ISD - Due to the forecast of freezing precipitation tonight, Miles ISD will have a 10:00 am start time tomorrow (2/24/2022), with buses running 2 hours late.
• Olfen ISD - Closed Thursday
• Paint Rock ISD - Closed Thursday

   

• Panther Creek ISD - Panther Creek CISD will have a 10:00 start Thursday.
• San Angelo ISD - All Campuses Closed Thursday.
• Schleicher County ISD - Due to inclement weather and its effect on driving conditions, SCISD will have a 10 a.m. start on 2/24. Buses will run two hours late. Stay warm and safe!

• Veribest ISD - Classes Cancelled Thursday
• Water Valley ISD - WVISD will have a 10:00 start tomorrow morning, Thursday, February 23. Buses will run two hours late.
• Wall ISD - Wall ISD will have a 10:00 a.m. start on Thursday, February 24th. Buses will run 2 hours late.
• Winters ISD -  Due to bad weather conditions, School will be delayed to start at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, February 24th
