Winter Storm Warning Issued for the Concho Valley Ahead of Dangerous Arctic Blast

 

SAN ANGELO – The Winter Storm Watch for San Angelo and the Concho Valley has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning as a strong and potentially deadly arctic cold front approaches the area Wednesday.  

Meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo have issued the Winter Storm Warning from noon Wednesday through 6 p.m. Thursday. 

A Winter Storm Warning means significants amounts of snow, sleet or ice will occur.  Travel will be very hazardous or impossible.  Unprotected pipes, pets left outside and vulnerable plants are is serious danger.  

Heavy mixed precipitation is expected across the region.  Total snow and sleet accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are now expected in San Angelo.  Texas Department of Transportation crews have sanded all bridges, overpasses and curved roadways on Loop 306 and Houston Harte.  

This is a serious and dangerous weather situation.
