NWS: Thunderstorms Could Dump Much Needed Rain in the Concho Valley Sunday

SAN ANGELO – Thunderstorms with much needed rain will track across West Central Texas late Sunday evening into Monday morning but rainfall amounts will be light in most areas.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, an upper level low pressure trough over New Mexico Sunday morning will track from west to east across the area late Sunday bringing the chance for showers and thunderstorms.

Most areas will see less than a tenth of an inch of rain but areas that experience thunderstorms will see much more rainfall.

There is a 70% chance of rain Sunday night falling to 30 percent Monday morning.  The storm system will exit the area quickly Monday. Temperatures will be in the mid 40s overnight Sunday with southwest winds at 5 mph.

This is a developing weather situation.
