Freezing Temps & Light Snow Possible Over the Weekend in the Concho Valley

 

SAN ANGELO – Freezing temperatures and some light snow or freezing rain are possible over the weekend across West Central Texas including in the Concho Valley. 

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, there is a chance of a wintery mix of snow and sleet across the region with overnight temperatures in the 20s and 30s.  

TxDOT crews have treated bridges and overpasses in anticipation of the freezing precipitation event. 

The latest forecast models show a chance of a wintery mix of precipitation over the Concho Valley early Sunday morning.  Ground temperatures are in the 40s so no accumulation is expected.  

Watch for slippery roads especially bridges and overpasses.  

There is a 20 percent chance of precipitation by Sunday evening.  High temperatures Sunday with stay in the upper 40s.  

The system will move out of the Concho Valley and seasonal temperatures and dry conditions will return to the area Monday with highs back in the 60s.  

The Christmas weekend forecast at this time calls for mostly clear skies and warm temperatures with no chance of rain or snow.
