Cold Snap Could Bring Freezing Temperatures Again Thursday

SAN ANGELO – A mild cold front will drop overnight temperatures in the San Angelo area to near freezing Thursday morning.

According to information from meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, the cold front is along the Texas - Oklahoma border Wednesday morning and will make its way through the Concho Valley by mid afternoon.

Winds behind the front will shift to the North at around 10 to 15 mph Wednesday evening and temperatures will drop to around 40 degrees.

Thursday will be much cooler with high temperatures in the 50s.  Thursday night winds will be calm and temperatures will drop to the freezing mark early Friday morning.  This is a dry frontal boundary so no precipitation is expected.  Low lying areas and river valleys could see a significant freeze.

The Concho Valley will then experience a warming trend Friday and Saturday with temps reaching the 70s again.  There is another cold front expected in the area sometime Sunday.
