First Autumn Cold Front Cools Down West Texas

SAN ANGELO – The first cold front of autumn is tracking across West Central Texas Friday bringing cooler and dryer air with gusty conditions across the region.  Winds will gust from 20 to 30 mph this afternoon heading into football Friday night.

Much cooler air will remain over the area tonight with high temperatures in the upper 60s to mid 70s and overnight lows in the 40s through the middle of next week.

This is a dry frontal system so there is no rain in the forecast.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo say this week will feature outstanding fall weather.  High temperatures Saturday and Sunday will be in the lower to mid 70s region wide with overnight lows in the lower to mid 40s.  Low lying areas could even dip into the 30s Saturday night but freezing temperatures are not expected.

Weather conditions are expected to chance by mid week next week.
