San Angelo Safari Club Chapter Raises Funds for Conservation

SAN ANGELO, TX – Hunting enthusiasts converged on the First Financial Pavilion Saturday for a fund raising extravaganza and banquet.

The San Angelo Chapter of Safari Club International (SCI) featured a live auction with items ranging from a $65,000 painting to African Safaris to jewelry and artwork.  There was also a drawing for guns and knives, a silent auction and a dinner.

SCI San Angelo Chapter President Jimmy Fontenot said, "30% of our net proceeds from this banquet go to the National organization to help with the overall mission. We keep 70% to distribute locally towards our own conservation, education and humanitarian efforts."

In 2020, the San Angelo Chapter granted $132,000 to local charitable organizations.

Since the local chapter was created, it has distributed $495,440 to charitable organizations.
