WATCH: Bison & Longhorns Delight San Angelo State Park Visitors

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Visitors to San Angelo State Park Saturday were treated to a bison and longhorn tour which showcased the park's most popular residents. 

The bison are part of the official Bison herd of Texas and consist of 19 animals.

The park ranger said there was one bison cow that didn't come to the treat truck because she is pregnant and about to birth her calf.  

The longhorn herd at the San Angelo State Park is part of the official Longhorn Herd of Texas.  The herd is made up of purebred longhorn cattle organized in the 1920s.

The bison and longhorns have separate adjoining pastures in the eastern part of the park.  Bison and longhorn tours are held on a regular basis.
