Frost Advisory Issued for the Concho Valley

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Frost Advisory for the Concho Valley and the Heartland for Wednesday morning from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Early morning temperatures are forecast to drop to the between 33 and 36 degrees and widespread frost is expected.  The frost could damage outdoor plants and crops. 

A cold front is bringing near freezing temperatures to the Concho Valley prompting the Frost Advisory.  The Big Country is under a Freeze Warning for Wednesday morning as well.  

Temperatures there are expected to drop to 31 to 32 degrees for a few hours early Wednesday morning.  Those temperatures could kill crops or sensitive vegetation.  

It is unusual for freezing or near freezing temperatures to occur this late in the year.
