SAN ANGELO, TX – There is a slight chance for snow flurries in the western counties of the Concho Valley Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, a Snow Advisory is in effect for Crockett County. An inch of snow is possible there.
An upper level low pressure system is interacting with a very cold airmass across the region bringing the snow chance. Temperatures will start out Saturday below freezing and rise to the mid 40s by noon. The snow chances will end around noon.
The snow could affect motorists traveling west on I-10 in the Ft. Stockton area as bridges and overpasses could be iced over.
As that storm system moves northeast Saturday, it could bring the chance of rain and snow west of a line from Sonora to Sterling City throughout the day.
The forecast calls for overnight temperatures around 32 degrees Friday and Saturday nights with a high Saturday in the upper 40s region wide.
The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
