Seismic Activity Rattles Ector County on Monday

 

ODESSA, TX – Several Ector County residents have reported feeling shaking, rumbling, and even hearing a boom early Monday morning following seismic activity in the county.

The U.S.G.S earthquake map is currently reporting that a 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded at approximately 5:56 a.m. on Monday.

The epicenter, or the location on the earth's surface vertically above the focal point of an earthquake, was shown to be located near Yukon and Faurdree just slightly northeast of town, according to the USGS website.
