NWS: Windy Cold Front Elevates Wildfire Danger

San Angelo, TX – A cold front is bringing windy conditions to the Concho Valley Thursday increasing the chance for wildfires.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo a wind advisory is in effect until noon Thursday.

Expect elevated fire weather conditions west of an Haskell to Abilene to San Angelo line due to gusty north to northeast winds and dry conditions.

The gusty winds will create difficult driving conditions for high profile vehicles, especially on east to west roadways.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 to 40 mph with higher gusts are occurring or expected.  Winds this strong can knock down tree limbs.

Stay up to date on changing weather conditions.
