Smith Canyon Wildfire Still Spreading and Only 20% Contained

 

IRAAN, TX — As previously reported, firefighters with the Texas A&M Forest Service have been battling a large wildfire near Iraan since Tuesday afternoon.

As of yesterday a fire in Pecos County named as the "Smith Canyon Fire" had scorched an estimated 4,000 acres, and was shown to be 0% contained.

Update: Todays update by the Texas A&M Forest Service shows the fire has burned an estimated 11,000 acres, and is currently listed as 20% contained.
