The Heat Wave Continues with a Heat Advisory for Wednesday

SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service has issued a Head Advisory for the Concho Valley area Wednesday afternoon.

Dangerously hot conditions will occur with high temperatures in the 103 to 108 degree range.

The Heat Advisory is for Fisher, Nolan, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Irion, Tom Green, Concho, Crockett, Haskell, Throckmorton, Jones, Shackelford, Taylor, Callahan, Coleman, Brown, and McCulloch counties from 2 p.m. this afternoon to 8 p.m. this evening.

Very hot temperatures will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

A Heat Advisory means that hot weather conditions are occurring or expected. This will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.

Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible. Never, ever, leave children or pets alone in enclosed vehicles, not even for a few minutes.
