WATCH; Wildfire Threatens Homes Near Carlsbad Amid Thunderstorms

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Amid oppressive heat Monday afternoon a wildfire threatened homes in the Carlsbad area according to radio reports and witnesses on the scene.

Firefighters with the Carlsbad and Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Departments converged on a wildfire on Carlsbad Loop and Burma Rd.

Firefighters were able to contain the wildfire as thunderstorms moved in. 

Reporters leaving the scene report heavy rain and hail moved in Monday evening. 

There were no reports of injuries or major property damage.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
