SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Heat Advisory for portions of the Concho Valley for Monday afternoon.
High temperatures of 103 to 106 degrees are expected in Sterling, Coke, Irion, Tom Green and Crockett Counties from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
Very hot conditions may cause heat illnesses to occur.
A Heat Advisory means that hot weather conditions are occurring or expected. This will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, and try to stay out of the sun. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
Never, ever, leave children or pets alone in enclosed vehicles, not even for a few minutes.
