Protect Pets, Pipes and Plants as Bitter Cold Temperatures in Store Monday and Tuesday Night

SAN ANGELO, TX – Bitterly cold temperatures are forecast for San Angelo and the Concho Valley Monday and Tuesday nights as a strong, dry cold front blows through the region.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will remain below usual mid December temperatures tonight and Tuesday. Lows tonight will be in the 20s, and highs on Tuesday will be mainly in the 45 to 50 range.

Look for overnight low temperatures in the mid 20s with wind chill values in the upper teens.  Very cold temperatures in that range can damage plants and pipes and harm pets, so residents are urged to move pets and plants inside and protect exposed pipes.

While temperatures will be dangerously low, there is no precipitation forecast.

The forecast calls for temperatures around 25 degrees Monday night and 24 degrees Tuesday night.

Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 50s with a warming trend beginning Thursday.
