July's "Buck Moon" Visible Tuesday Night

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- July's full moon will be visible on tonight.

On July 16 the "Buck Moon" will be 100 percent visible at around 9:00 p.m. and will not set until 7:00 a.m. the following morning.

The moon got it's name due to antlers that begin to appear on buck's head around this time of the year.

Other names for the moon is the Thunder Moon, Hay Moon, and Wort Moon.
