Lightning Destroys Brown County Home

BLANKET, TX -- The storms yesterday brought some serious damage to a house in Brown County.

On June 19, Firefighters from Brown County were dispatched to a home on CR 333 for a house that was struck by lightning.

The arrived at around 8 a.m. and put out the fire. Due to the extreme electricity shot to the house all of the wires in the attic caught on fire at one time causing the roof to collapse.

KTXS interviewed with the owner of the house Steve Simpson who told them that he was not there at the time but mostly everything was destroyed.

The Simpson's have lived in the house for 12 years and plan to rebuild soon.
