WATCH: Rainfall Ending and Flood Waters Receding Across West Central Texas

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Rain is ending across West Central Texas Wednesday evening and as flood waters recede, streets are becoming passable again. 

The National Weather Service office at Mathis Field recorded 1.72 inches of rainfall since midnight.  

Heavy thunderstorms moved into the Concho Valley causing widespread street flooding in San Angelo and the surrounding areas.

Lightening knocked out power in several locations including the traffic and railroad signals at Austin St. and Knickerbocker Rd. 

There were several automobile crashes on the rain slicked roads Wednesday morning including one at the corner of Washington and Irving Streets that sent a child and two adults to the hospital by ambulance.  

The forecast calls for a slight chance of light rain Wednesday evening then clearing conditions. 

Thursday's high will be in the lower 80s.  The next chance of rain is on Tuesday.
