Red Flag Warning and Record High Temperatures Today

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Record high temperatures are forecast for the San Angelo area today.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, a Red Flag Warning has been issued, which is in effect from noon today to 10 p.m. this evening. Winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph are forecast and relative humidity will be in the 10 to 15 percent range so any fires that develop could spread rapidly, especially across those areas that have not completely greened up. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The forecast calls for a record high temperature of 101 degrees.  It will be windy with a low temperature of 55 degrees to night and much cooler on Thursday with a high of 77 degrees.
