SAN ANGELO, TX -- Light rains across the Concho Valley Monday morning will give way to high winds and elevated fire danger on the same day.
According to the National Weather Service Office in San Angelo, elevated fire weather conditions are possible late Monday afternoon and early Monday evening, generally west of a Sterling City, to Sweetwater, to Haskell Line as gusty west winds combine with dry air.
In addition, west winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph across the western Big Country and Concho Valley late Monday afternoon and evening.
Motorists of high profile vehicles should be alert to sudden wind gusts, especially on north to south roadways.
The forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of rain before 2 p.m. then winds pickup from the southwest to 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 60s Monday afternoon.
