Hard Freeze Warning In Effect With Wind Chill Values in the Teens Monday Night

UPDATE:  11/12/18 6:15 p.m.  NWS forecasters predict blustery conditions with winds 15 to 20 mph overnight as temperatures fall to the mid 20s. 

The forecast calls for wind chill values in the teens. 

This is a dangerous situation for people,  pets and plants outside overnight as temperatures will remain well below freezing for several hours. 

High temperatures on Tuesday will only reach the mid 40s with temperatures Tuesday night even colder with lows around 23 degrees.

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Sleet was falling across San Angelo and the Concho Valley in front of a cold front that will bring a hard freeze Monday night. 

The National Weather Service Office in San Angelo has issued a freeze warning from 6 p.m. Monday night to 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

A strong cold front will continue to bring much colder air into West Central Texas tonight. Therefore, expect a hard freeze, across all of West Central Texas, Tuesday morning.

This will be the first widespread freeze of the season.

Another hard freeze will occur across all of West Central Texas Tuesday night, with temperatures dropping into the lower to mid 20s.

Wind chill values will be in the teens overnight.  

Below freezing temperatures could harm unprotected pets, plants, and pipes. The cold temperatures may kill sensitive garden crops and outdoor plants.

A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

The forecast calls for gusty winds 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.  Temperatures will fall to the mid 20s.
