Ballinger Under a Flood Warning Through Sunday

 

BALLINGER, TX -- Ballinger and Runnels County remain under a flood warning through Sunday as the Colorado River if above flood stage. 

According to the National Weather Service, the Flood Warning continues for The Colorado River Near Ballinger until Sunday morning.  At 8:00 p.m. Friday the stage was 18.9 feet.  Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.

The river will continue rising to near 19.8 feet by Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday evening.  

Moderate flooding of pasture land and fish farm equipment areas will occur. Secondary roads and low water crossings may be flooded.

Area lakes have picked up a lot of much needed water.  

Twin Buttes Reservoir is now 41 percent full with 80,169 acre feet.  A month ago, Twin Buttes was only 3.7 percent full with 10.477 acre feet.

O.H. Ivie now has 171,167 acre feet and is 31 percent full up from 14.7 percent full at 81,427 acre feet.

Lake Nasworthy is 90 percent full at 9,087 acre feet. 

The Concho Valley is drying out over the weeken and rain chances return by mid week next week.
