Concho Valley Bracing for Another Round of Heavy Rain As Flood Watch Continues Through Friday Evening

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo and the Concho Valley are under a flash flood watch until Friday evening.  

According to the National Weather Service, the Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for West central Texas, including the following areas, Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman, Concho, Crockett, Fisher, Haskell, Irion, Jones, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Nolan, Runnels, San Saba, Schleicher, Shackelford, Sterling, Sutton, Taylor, Throckmorton, and Tom Green counties through Friday evening.

Rainfall amounts between 1/2 and one inch will be common, with localized amounts of two inches possible. These rainfall amounts, along with already saturated soils, will produce rapid runoff, and low water crossings and city streets may flood quickly. Creeks and streams may overflow with swiftly flowing water.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain Thursday night and a 70 percent chance for Friday and tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico flows into the region.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
