Heavy Rains Send South Concho River Out of Its Banks in Christoval

 

CHRISTOVAL, TX -- The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is reporting that the South Concho River at Christoval is flooding Friday night. 

The Sheriff's office is reporting that the bridge over the Concho River on Loop 110, which is Main St. in Christoval, is closed due to flooding as is the bridge on Mineral Wells Rd. in Mineral Wells park.  

The South Concho River flows into the south pool of Twin Buttes Reservoir.  

Earlier Friday, the Sheriff's office said the low water crossing on Dove Creek  between Dove Creek Lane East and Dove Creek Lane West was also closed due to flooding.  

Heavy rains in Schleicher County has closed U.S. 277 South between Eldorado and Sonora and Irion County was also under a flood warning on Friday.  

Expect streams and draws flowing into Twin Buttes Reservoir to be flowing for the next several hours.
